Urgent Roof Repairs to Hartsdown Leisure Centre, Margate
In February 2022, Storm Eunice caused damage to the roof covering of Hartsdown Leisure Centre. The water ingress had weakened the structural integrity of the roof's original material and therefore required urgent repair.
We were instructed by Thanet District Council to prepare tender documents, obtain competitive tenders and administer the contract for the replacement roof of Hartsdown Leisure Centre.
The roofing contractor confirmed that approximately 50% of the felt roof covering had been torn away leaving the roof covering exposed to the elements. It was identified that an alternative cladding material was required and a profiled steel insulated composite roofing panel was proposed.
We worked with BEC Construction and Thanet District Council to ensure Your Leisure could continue use of the facilities and future proof the roof for years to come.
